Barcelona and Park Güell: A private tour, 5 hours with hotel pickup
Five hours in private, with a customizable route, and hotel pickup. The tour travels forward in time. It begins with Roman Barcelona, in Plaça de Sant Jaume, continues through the medieval streets of the Gothic Quarter, ascends along Passeig de Gràcia among modernist facades, and ends in Park Güell, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In five hours, you'll cover two thousand years, and with a guide dedicated only to your group, you can extend the parts that interest you and shorten the rest.

Parc de Montjuic
The day begins on Montjuïc mountain, offering a panoramic view of the city. The mountain was historically used as a strategic position to defend Barcelona, and today it is home to the Miró Foundation and the CaixaForum. These, along with other buildings, provide a good understanding of the history of modern art and contemporary architecture in the area. Montjuïc also retains elements of the urban planning and buildings constructed for the 1929 International Exposition.
Las Ramblas
To reach the coast, you pass through Las Ramblas, the city's most famous avenue.
Port Vell Barcelone
Along the coastal road, you'll pass the Columbus Monument and the Gothic shipyards. Around the beach area, you'll find more modern architecture, including the World Trade Center and the renovated old port. Port Vell retains its character and is now full of restaurants, nightlife venues, and shops.
Monument a Colom
I walked past the Columbus Monument, the tall column dedicated to Christopher Columbus that marks the lower end of La Rambla.
Barrio Gótic
A stroll through the Gothic Quarter, one of the districts of Ciutat Vella, the old town, is a journey through time. Here, the history of Barcelona begins, where the modern era blends with Roman and medieval remnants. As you wander through its corners, squares, and narrow alleyways, you'll hear about Catalan traditions and the origins of the city.
Plaça de Sant Jaume
Located in Plaça de Sant Jaume, one of the main and oldest squares in the Ciutat Vella (Old City).
Catedral de Barcelona
Standing in front of the Gothic cathedral in Barcelona, which serves as the seat of the city's archbishopric.
L'Eixample
A drive through the Eixample district, the neighborhood designed by Ildefons Cerdà in 1859 to expand the city. In Catalan, "eixample" means "expansion." As you drive through its streets, you can see just how revolutionary and utopian his urban planning ideas were.
Basílica de la Sagrada Familia
Standing before the facade of the Sagrada Família, the monument that defines Barcelona, visitors are often struck by the organic forms of the structure, the light filtering through the stained glass windows, and the symbolic significance of the sculpted facade. These are the elements that typically leave the most lasting impression.
Park Güell
Park Güell, located above the Gràcia neighborhood, features architecture inspired by natural forms: narrow, winding paths resembling lava flows, covered by columns shaped like trees, stalactites, and other geometric shapes.
Paseo de Gracia
Passeig de Gràcia is renowned for its most iconic examples of Catalan architecture. This avenue is home to some of the most notable modernist facades, including La Pedrera and Casa Batlló by Gaudí, as well as Casa Lleó Morera and Casa Amatller.
La Pedrera - Casa Mila
The unusual design of La Pedrera, one of Gaudí's largest houses.
Casa Batlló
The facade of Casa Batlló, another of Gaudí's houses on Passeig de Gràcia.
La Mansana de la Discòrdia
I walked past Casa Lleó Morera, designed by the modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, and the neighboring Casa Amatller.
