Tomorrow, a private tour of La Pedrera: the whale-shaped attic and the flower courtyard
Visit a private tour in the morning at La Pedrera, also known as Casa Milà, Antoni Gaudí's most famous architectural work. The nickname comes from its appearance: "pedrera" means quarry, and from the street, the building looks like an open rock. With a local guide, you will explore the apartments, the attic with its whale-shaped structures, featuring brick arches aligned like an animal's skeleton, and the flower courtyard. After the tour, you will walk along Passeig de Gràcia to Casa Amatller and Casa Batlló. The latter can be added as a separate entry and visited independently: the guided tour does not include it. In Barcelona, Casa Batlló is called "la casa dels ossos," the house of bones, because its columns and balconies have a skeletal appearance. Up close, you can appreciate the irregular windows, the carved floral decorations, and the mosaic that covers almost the entire facade, with the references that Gaudí made to nature and the history of Catalonia. The meeting point is in front of the Café de la Pedrera, with your voucher in hand, and allow ten minutes for margin.
