Bellesguard Tower, visit independently with an audio guide app

Bellesguard literally means "beautiful view" in Catalan, and the name predates the house: it comes from the medieval castle that was here, that of Martin I of Aragon, known as Martin the Human, and the last king of the Catalan dynasty. Gaudí built the building between 1900 and 1909, drawing inspiration from this historical site. That's why he blends modernism and Gothic styles, and also why he used a rectilinear design, a method he had used very little until then. Those familiar with the Sagrada Familia will recognize certain elements: several of the construction solutions that he later applied to the temple were first tested in this house, on a much smaller scale and with a private client. The entrance includes an application with an audio guide, so you can explore it at your own pace, stopping where you like. And the view of Barcelona from here lives up to the name. You can cancel up to the time of the reserved time slot.
