A modernist stroll and a paella cooking class in Gràcia, featuring cuttlefish and sangria
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
BarcelonaA half-day experience that combines two things that are usually purchased separately: a tour of modernist architecture and a Spanish cooking class where you get your hands dirty. The walking tour starts in front of Casa Batlló and goes up Passeig de Gràcia to La Pedrera, and then reaches Casa Vicens, in Gràcia, which is Gaudí's first major commission and where you can best see how he started. All the buildings are viewed from the street, without entering. Afterwards, the group moves to Kampada Cooking, where a professional chef leads the class. Paella is prepared, along with mejillones a la marinera (mussels in marinara sauce), sepia con ajo y perejil (cuttlefish with garlic and parsley), pa amb tomàquet (bread with tomato), and sangria, with explanations of the ingredients and why each thing is done in a particular way. The session ends by eating what was prepared in the class. The meeting point is in front of the Casa Loewe on Passeig de Gràcia. The guide will be waiting 15 minutes beforehand with a sign for Julià Travel.
