Barcelona and Sagrada Familia: A private half-day tour with hotel pickup
Half a day in private to see the main sights of Barcelona and enter the Sagrada Família. The guide takes the group through the city, explaining the history and origin of each place, and along the way, you'll discover places that aren't on the "must-see" lists. The central part is the Sagrada Família, with skip-the-line entry: you walk past the queue and enter to admire the building at your own pace. Because it's a private tour, the attention is solely for your group, and in half a day, you have enough time to see the architecture that makes this city unique without feeling exhausted.

Parc de Montjuic
The tour begins on Montjuïc mountain, offering a panoramic view of the city. The mountain was historically used as a strategic position to defend Barcelona from attacks, and today it is home to the Miró Foundation and the CaixaForum. These, along with other buildings, provide a good understanding of the history of modern art and contemporary architecture in the area. Montjuïc also retains elements of the urban planning and buildings constructed for the 1929 International Exposition.
Las Ramblas
To reach the coast, you pass through Las Ramblas, the city's most famous avenue.
Port Vell Barcelone
After Montjuïc, the route descends to the coast, passing by the Columbus Monument and the Gothic shipyards. Around the beach, you'll find more modern architecture, including the World Trade Center and the renovated old port. Port Vell retains its character and is now full of restaurants, nightlife venues, and shops.
Monument a Colom
I walked past the Columbus Monument, the tall column dedicated to Christopher Columbus.
Barrio Gótic
After that, I strolled through the Gothic Quarter, one of the districts of Ciutat Vella, the old town. In Ciutat Vella, where the history of Barcelona began, the modern blends with Roman and medieval remnants. As you explore the area, you're surrounded by stories of Catalan traditions and the city's origins, while wandering through hidden corners, squares, and narrow alleyways.
Plaça de Sant Jaume
I walked through Plaça de Sant Jaume, one of the main and oldest squares in the Ciutat Vella (Old City).
Catedral de Barcelona
Stop to admire the facade of the Gothic cathedral in Barcelona, which serves as the seat of the city's archbishopric.
L'Eixample
A drive through the Eixample district, the neighborhood designed by Ildefons Cerdà starting in 1859 to expand the city. In Catalan, "eixample" means "expansion." As you drive through its streets, you can see just how revolutionary and utopian his urban planning ideas were.
Basílica de la Sagrada Familia
The Sagrada Família is the building that defines Barcelona. It's difficult to describe the feeling of entering this modernist temple. The organic shapes of the structure, the light filtering through the stained glass windows, and the symbolic significance of the sculpted facade are often what people remember most, sometimes even from the entire trip.
Paseo de Gracia
I walked along Passeig de Gràcia, the upscale avenue known for its most iconic examples of Catalan architecture. There, you can admire the most remarkable modernist facades: La Pedrera and Casa Batlló by Gaudí, as well as Casa Lleó Morera and Casa Amatller.
La Pedrera - Casa Mila
The undulating facade of Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera, is a work by Gaudí that stands out for its daring design.
Casa Batlló
Standing in front of the facade of Casa Batlló, with its distinctive color and intricate details, it's easy to see why it's one of Gaudí's most recognizable works.
La Mansana de la Discòrdia
I walked past the Lleó Morera House, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, and the Amatller House, designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch: two distinct modernist buildings located on the same block.
