Ciutat Vella
The day begins at your hotel: the tour guide and driver will pick you up in a minivan, so it's important to provide the exact location of your accommodation. Along the way, you'll get your first panoramic view of Barcelona and pass by Plaça de Catalunya, the main square in the city center.
Parc de Montjuic
We ascended Montjuïc mountain to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. The tour guide pointed out the Olympic facilities built for the 1992 Games, such as the Olympic Stadium and the Palau Sant Jordi. We also passed by the Miró Foundation, and there was time to relax in one of the hill's gardens.
Montjuic Castle
Montjuïc Castle has dominated Barcelona since the 17th century. Today, it houses a military museum and offers one of the best views of the city.
Las Ramblas
The tour continues towards the coastline, passing by Las Ramblas, the Boqueria Market, the Columbus Monument, the Museum of Catalan History, and the Old Port.
Barrio Gótic
The day continues with a walk through the medieval old town. You stroll through the Gothic Quarter, where the history of Barcelona begins, and you learn about Catalan traditions and the origins of the city as you pass through corners, squares, and narrow alleys. There's a stop at Plaça Reial, one of the most lively spots in the old town, and at Plaça Sant Jaume, with the City Hall and the oldest and best-hidden corner of the city center, dating back to Roman times. Afterward, through a maze of streets, you reach Plaça del Rei and the Gothic cathedral. Along the way, you'll find small squares that have marked the city's history, and the Call, the old Jewish quarter, one of the best-preserved areas in the center.
Paseo de Gracia
Back in the car, we drove through the Eixample district, the neighborhood that Ildefons Cerdà designed in 1859 to expand the city. We passed by Passeig de Gràcia, where you can see some of the most recognizable examples of Catalan architecture: La Pedrera and Casa Batlló by Gaudí, Casa Lleó Morera by Domènech, and Casa Amatller.
Casa Batlló
The Casa Batlló is one of the most famous buildings in Barcelona and a symbol of Catalan Modernism.
La Pedrera - Casa Mila
Another masterpiece by Antoni Gaudí, part of the city's modernist route. The guide explains who the architect was and what his work meant for Catalan modernism.
Basílica de la Sagrada Familia
The life's work of a genius or a madman, the Sagrada Família leaves its mark. You enter to see the work of Gaudí, the building with which Barcelona is identified. It's difficult to describe what one feels when crossing the door of this modernist temple. The organic forms of the entire structure, the light filtered through the stained glass windows, and the symbolic load of the sculpted façade are what one remembers from the visit.

Park Güell
The day ends with Barcelona at your feet, from one of the city's best-located hills: Park Güell, overlooking the Gràcia neighborhood, with its organic forms inspired by nature. There, you'll find narrow, winding paths, like rivers of lava, covered with columns shaped like trees, stalactites, and other geometric forms.
