The guided tour of Casa Amatller is not narrated by a neutral voice: it is narrated by the owner himself, who explains his travels around the world, his passion for chocolate, and how he ended up living in a house like this. This changes the tone of the tour. Instead of a list of dates and materials, you follow the life of a bourgeois family from early 20th century Barcelona, with the house serving as the backdrop. The building was designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, and his decisions are better understood knowing who he worked for. At the end, there's something you won't find in any other house on Passeig de Gràcia: a box of Amatller chocolate leaves, the same brand that paid for all of this.
