Gaudí's Life in 2 Hours: A Walking Tour from His Early Years to the Sagrada Família
Two hours on foot that tell the story of Antoni Gaudí's life in order, from his youth to his later years, with the buildings as evidence. Along the way, it explains how he came to build in that way: the materials he used before anyone else, and the color, which is what makes one of his works recognizable from a hundred meters away. The route passes by the Palau Güell, the Casa Batlló, and the Casa Milà, among other stops. The starting point is in Plaça Reial, next to the fountain. There is a short metro ride to reach one of the stops, and the route ends where the architect's career also ended: the Sagrada Família.

Pl. Reial, Barcelona
The meeting point is in Plaça Reial, near the fountain. The guides will be wearing a yellow backpack with the words "Free Tour" on it.
Placa Reial
The first stop focuses on Gaudí's early years and his initial works.
Palau Güell
The Palau Güell is a building designed by Antoni Gaudí, a prominent example of Catalan Modernism. It is located on Nou de la Rambla street, near the port. It was commissioned by Eusebi Güell, who admired the architect and financed several of his most important works.
Casa Batlló
The Casa Batlló belongs to Gaudí's naturalist period, in the first decade of the 20th century, when he had fully developed his architectural style, drawing inspiration from the forms of nature. To achieve this, he developed innovative structural solutions, based on his study of geometric principles.
La Pedrera - Casa Mila
Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera, belongs to the same naturalist period, the first decade of the 20th century. Here, the architect took the structural solutions he had previously experimented with to a further level, always starting from a regular geometric framework.
Basílica de la Sagrada Familia
The main landmark of the neighborhood, and the one that gives it its name, is the Sagrada Familia basilica. Construction began in 1882 and is still ongoing. It is considered Antoni Gaudí's masterpiece and the pinnacle of Catalan Modernism, and it is the most visited monument in Spain.
Sagrada Família, Barcelona
The tour ends where Gaudí's story also concludes: in the masterpiece that represents the culmination of his career.
