Three hours walking through the Eixample district with a guide and a small group, following the route from the early Modernism to the work that Gaudí did not complete. The meeting point is on Carrer de Fontanella, next to the Movistar Centre. From there, you walk up Passeig de Gràcia to the "Manzana de la Discordia" (Block of Discord), the block where three architects built side-by-side, and where you can best see how they differed from each other. You're guided past Casa Amatller, which belonged to a family of chocolatiers, Casa Batlló, and La Pedrera. Along the way, you pass Casa de les Punxes, where the guide tells the legend of Sant Jordi, the patron saint of Barcelona. The tour ends at the Sagrada Família. The group is small, so the explanations are easy to hear, and you can ask questions without waiting your turn. It's suitable for those interested in architecture as well as those who are simply curious.

  1. Carrer de Fontanella, 2, Barcelona

Located near the Movistar Centre. The guide will be wearing the identification badge of In Out Barcelona Tours.

  2. Paseo de Gracia

The most famous avenue in the city, known for its beautiful houses and high-end shops. This is a good time to ask your guide about the nearby restaurants with Michelin stars.

  3. La Mansana de la Discòrdia

Here is the house that paved the way for Modernism in Barcelona, a work by Domènech i Montaner, who was a professor at the university and who, incidentally, taught Gaudí.

  4. Casa Amatller

It was the home of Barcelona's most renowned chocolatiers, and it's a significant example of Modernist architecture. You can purchase chocolate to take away.

  5. Casa Batlló

The color of Casa Batlló catches the eye of people walking along Passeig de Gràcia. Situated in the middle of the avenue, and in stark contrast to its neighbors, Casa Amatller and Casa Lleó Morera, Gaudí's building showcases what happens when an architect works without any constraints. It is one of the most famous private residences in the world and is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

  6. La Pedrera - Casa Mila

Casa Milà, also on the UNESCO World Heritage list, marks the culmination of Gaudí's career: a modernist building designed for a new way of living, with nature and its forms as the starting point.

  7. Casa de les Punxes

In passing, you can see one of the major works of Modernism, depicting Saint George, the patron saint of Barcelona and many other countries and cities.

  8. Basílica de la Sagrada Familia

The Sagrada Família was the project that Gaudí took to his grave, and it is the building with which Barcelona is identified. Inside, organic forms run throughout the entire structure, light filters through the stained glass windows, and the facades, carved with intricate details, tell the story that the architect wanted to convey. It is the highlight of the visit.

  9. Sagrada Família, Barcelona
