Two-hour mosaic workshop with a master artisan in Barcelona

The long version of the workshop: two hours to create a piece of mosaic art and take it home. "Trencadís" is the ceramic mosaic made from broken tiles that covers much of Gaudí's work, and creating it involves more work than it appears from the street: you have to break, choose, fit, and grout. With two hours available, there's time to do it without rushing. In 2026, it will be one hundred years since the death of Antoni Gaudí. The workshop is led by Angelika Heinbach, who has been awarded the diploma of "Mestre Artesà divulgatiu" (Master Artisan Educator) for her work and her promotion of this craft, awarded by the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia at the Palau de la Generalitat. In 2019, she collaborated with Casa Batlló within the UNESCO World Heritage Volunteer project, "The restoration of Casa Batlló, from the inside out."
