Park Güell no longer sells tickets at the box office: here's how to get in, and why the same ticket has three different prices

Starting in July 2024, tickets for the historical district will only be sold online. The official price is €18, but the same ticket is also being sold for €21 and €29.99. Here's what you get with each option.

Many people arrive at Park Güell believing two false things: that there is an entrance fee to enter the park, and that tickets are purchased at the gate. Neither of these is true, and being mistaken about them can waste an entire morning.

What is included and what is not

The Park Güell is a public park in Barcelona, and most of its hectares are freely accessible: the paths, the pine groves, the viaducts with inclined columns, and the views of the city. You can spend an entire afternoon inside without paying anything.

What you are paying for is the monumental area, which is where the things you see in the photos are located: the salamander staircase, the hypostyle hall with Jujol's medallions, the Plaza de la Naturaleza with the undulating mosaic bench, and the two pavilions at the entrance. It costs 18 €.

No ticket office: what does it actually mean?

Since July 2024, tickets for the monument area are only sold online. It's not that it's not recommended to buy in advance; it's that there's nowhere to buy tickets at the entrance. Anyone who arrives without a ticket has to purchase it from their mobile phone at that moment, and during peak season, the tickets for the next hour are usually sold out.

The entry has a designated time slot: you must enter within the reserved half-hour. Arriving late doesn't always mean you're out of luck, but it does depend on what the access staff decides that day. With children, and especially in August, that half-hour buffer quickly disappears.

Why does the same ticket cost €18, €21, and €29.99?

Here is the information we have verified, and it is important to state it directly: the same ticket to the monumental area is sold for €18 on the official website, for €21 with one operator, and for €29.99 with another. The access is the same, the time slot is the same, and what you see is the same. Only the profit margin changes.

Prices verified on August 25, 2026, for entry to the historical area.
Where Price What's included
Official website of Park Güell€18None: it's the reference
Direct reseller€21Cancellation and support in your language
Direct reseller€29.99There's nothing to justify the €12 difference
With audio guide€21Explanation on the phone; the park doesn't have any signs

Our Park Güell ticket listing exists and generates a commission, so saying this goes against our immediate interest. We say it anyway: if you only want to enter and the official website has your desired time slot available, buy it there. Booking elsewhere makes sense when you're purchasing something else – a guided tour, a combination ticket with the Sagrada Família, flexible cancellation – not when it's simply the same ticket at a higher price.

The audio guide, and why it's actually useful here

The Park Güell doesn't have signs. It's explored like a neighborhood plan, the logic of which no one has explained: it was a failed urban development project — sixty plots for sale, only two sold — and what today seems like a modernist theme park was actually the construction work for a development that didn't find buyers. Without that information, half of what you see doesn't make sense: the viaducts were roads, and the hypostyle hall was the market.
